The assault on Christmas continues…
Posted in: Merry Christmas by Spider on December 10, 2008
Today…right now as a matter of fact, the people in my office are decorating for Christmas…oh wait, was that not PC…sorry…for “The Holidays” and were told that they could not put up any depictions of Santa Claus as someone might get offended. WTF?! It’s Santa, goddammit. It’s not like they were putting up pictures of the Blessed Virgin, or Jesus. Shit like this makes me want to rebel…I have a HUGE Santa cutout at home…guess where it’s going now…you got it…right on the wall in my office…screw you upper management.

How dare you! I’m so offended! That picture of Mr. Kringle depicts him with a big nose, indicating that he’s actually Jewish! Happy Harmonica indeed!

I wonder what would happen if we (meaning those of us who celebrate Christmas) got offended that someone put up a menorah? I mean, I’m *not* offended. Why? Because I respect that Jewish people Hanukkah. I don’t mind if they put up the symbols of their holiday. They aren’t offensive and it’s not like I am being forced to celebrate a holiday just by seeing its symbols. So why can’t I put up the symbols of MY holiday & have it respected?
