Knitting my fingers off…
Posted in: Fun, Friends and Family, Knittin' Fool... by Spider on September 20, 2009
As y’all can obviously tell, l like to knit and crochet…a lot. Right now I’m working on a super cool purple knit/purl butterfly pattern baby afghan. (Wow…that was a mouthful) It’s for my bestie’s baby shower. (Don’t you tell her about it Matt, or there’ll be trouble.) The funny thing is she’s already seen it. Since the shower is so close I have no choice but to work on it in front of her. I think she might suspect since she’s commented on the niceness of it but hasn’t asked me who it’s for. Interesting. I sincerely hope she isn’t thinking to herself…”good lord, that thing’s hideous, I hope it isn’t for me” Naah…she wouldn’t think that…would she?
You may be wondering why I would post this information on my blog…well believe it or not my own buddy doesn’t read my blog…isn’t that sad? On the other hand…if she does read it occasionally without my knowledge this could have all been a horrible mistake. Anyway…here are some pictures.

So I was going to keep this project a secret, since well certain readers of this blog are related to the recipient of said project…but I just can’t hold myself back from putting a picture of it up some

where. So here it is…I’m sure you all remember last year’s SuperMonkey…defender of justice. The latest installment of monkey heroes is in progress right now…yes you guessed it SuperMonkey’s long-time frienemy…BatMonkey…BatMonkey can be a little cranky at times but overall he’s a pretty good guy…I mean…monkey…notice his snarky little grin…

Another one bites the dust

So another project down (sorry, no picture yet, stay tuned for that) and another one begins. Yet another Red Sox afghan. They’re piling up like cord wood, as are the future projects.
Last week I found out my bestie Miriam is having a baby girl this winter and I couldn’t be more excited, A. because a little girl is being added to our fold, and B. because I get to knit and crochet some awesome stuff…woo hoo!

So after a week-long vacation it’s back to the salt mines tomorrow…blah. The knitting marathon I had planned for this week did not turn out as I had planned…and well I don’t have a completed project picture to post…I know…shameful. However, I do have a picture of the progress so far. This is a hooded sweater I’m working on for my son’s little friend’s upcoming birthday (by upcoming I mean November, hey gotta start early) Anyway here it is…check out the Red Sox “B” in relief on the front…classy
PS… stay tuned for pictures of our recent trip to the Ecotarium…

Halloweenie
Posted in: Fun, Friends and Family by Spider on November 01, 2008
Well people Halloween is over…thank God. All this hullabaloo for 1 night. This was our boy’s first time trick or treating. Yes, I know, he’s 4, I’m a horrible mother. We don’t live in a neighborhood that’s particularly conducive to safe trick or treating, so this year we went out with the Echo’s. They have a lovely neighborhood, and there were a TON of other kids…holy crap!
Now let me just say this…when it comes to Halloween, I’m hardcore. You’d better come to my door in a costume or you’re getting a rock in your bag. Sorry kid. As for the candy quota, Mrs. Echo’s a little liberal with the candy distribution (that reflects her kind-hearted generosity, I’m pure evil, remember)…I say 1 treat per kid, then get the hell off my porch.
We even had a kid passing out Jesus. Yes that’s right, a child came up to the house, turned down the candy, and gave us a Jesus pamphlet. Pass out all the stuff you want kid…but hey, take the candy. I think even Jesus, if given the opportunity, would have tried out a miniature Snickers. I know, I’m going straight to hell.
