Ok, so I’ve been gone for a while.  I guess I really had nothing to say.  My constant posting of what is wrong in the world, or the latest heinous crime that was committed wherever was bringing me down.  I guess I read too much news.  That being said, as you saw in my previous post some time ago I discovered woowork.com and was ecstatic to find this site.  Howie Woo creates some amazing crochet art, and his site is a little piece of happiness for a crochet junkie like me.  His site inspired me to start posting some of my own crochet (and now knit) work on my blog.  However I discovered that inspired does not equal motivated. So we have had a 2+ month dry spell of posting.

At any rate, what this all boils down to is that I am currently wrapping up a couple of projects that I vow to have up here by the end of this week.  I am also going to change the format of the usual drivel I put out to something more upbeat and less angry.  So be prepared to see a lot of my yarn work, and a lot of funny anecdotes about my LB…oh yea, and commentary on the Red Sox…(that might get a little angry)

What the hell is up with this WBC.  Aside from being a veritable pro-ballplayer injury factory, it also supplied a fairly freakish upset….the Dominican Republic (the ballplayer supplier of the universe) is beaten by The Netherlands…THE NETHERLANDS!  What sports are the Netherlands famous for?  The luge?

I think someone somewhere got this idea…hmm, in the off-season lets have this big baseball tournament, invite all these ballplayers from around the world…and not just any players, the best ones.  And then beat the holy hell out of ‘em, and finish up just in time to send their injured asses back for the start of baseball season…we’ll call it…the World Baseball Classic…

Oddly enough it seems some injuries don’t even happen during the game, but during the post game celebrations…take it easy there Youk!

Ok, so this morning I made my usual weekend trip to Wally World. It’s not too bad early on a Sunday morning. Now bear in mind, today is Nov. 2, just a day after Halloween…I enter the store to find all the Halloween spangle gone, replaced by Christmas trees and the like…but the most offensive of this was the music…Christmas music.  Now correct me if I’m wrong but I can remember a day when the holiday tunes didn’t start until after Thanksgiving…it’s freakin’ Halloween.  Is this like a black hole that’s just going to continue to expand until we hear and see this crap all year long?  Dear God!

Now don’t get me wrong, I love the holidays just as much as the next guy who hates human interaction and thinks everyone is an idiot.  It just seems that this time of year brings out the real morons.  The holiday season is supposed to be a time of good cheer, giving and kindness (or so I am told)…but to me it only brings the assholes in people out.  And when you combine the elements of morons/assholes, Walmart, Christmas music, and me all in the same place, at the same time…remember when Peter went nuclear on Heroes…yea…something like that…

Fall TV Review…Spoiler Alert!

Heroes…lets just say I wasn’t impressed.  I was bored actually…and that made me disappointed.  My buddy Supe stated earlier that he might be “off” Heroes, and lo and behold, so did fellow blogospherian Echo.  So apparently the sentiment is not mine alone.  I found it predictable, and even soap opera-esque.  Syler, I’m your mom…seriously?  As if the Petrelli’s aren’t already fucked up enough.  And does anyone else think Peter is a whiny little bitch?  Ok, that’s enough, I’m getting annoyed just thinking about it.

Chuck: Can I just say I love this show.  It’s spy, it’s action, and it’s funny.  While I did miss a portion of it (I was playing Cootie with LB) (NBC.com + HTPC = kick ass) what I did see was great.  Chuck pretending to be his alter ego, super spy Charles Carmicheal, meanwhile back at the Buy More a cage match to determine the new Asst. Manager…that my friends is good TV.

Knight Rider: Alright, I admit it, I watched it.  The 10-year-old me somewhere deep in my brain made me do it.  I had some secret hope it would be good…it was horrific.  Like a train wreck.  The acting = bad painfully bad.  The voice of KITT, Val Kilmer…whaaa?  Not to mention KITT is now a Mustang…which by some amazing technology can convert into an F-150…maybe they should call the show “Knight Rider, Brought to you by FORD.   I give it 5 episodes before this latest KR incarnation rides off into the sunset.

Life: I cannot say enough about this show,  I love it.   Damien Lewis (Band of Brothers, Dreamcatcher) is awesome.   It isn’t a fast-paced shoot out cop show.  It’s slow, intellectual and darkly funny.
