True Confessions…
Posted in: 200 Channels and nuthin on... by Spider on October 22, 2008
Ok, so I’m not exactly “off” Heroes. Much like Lost it has me sucked in, and as hard as I might to try and turn away, I can’t. Bastards. I hate 90% of the characters. In fact the only character that I find mildly entertaining is Syler…yes the original villain. Go figure. His bad guy trying to be good thing is funny…don’t ask me why. Everybody else is whiny, and annoying. But every Monday, there I am, damn you Heroes! At least I have broken the Svengali hold that LOST had on me…so there is hope.
Hell is Walmart on a Saturday…
Posted in: Insanity at its Best, Life in the Fast Lane by Spider on October 18, 2008
I hate Walmart, and on a Saturday it’s somewhere between the 3rd and 4th Circle of Hell. I would rather shove a crochet hook in my eye than go there on a Saturday…and yet, somehow, I end up there every goddamn week. Years ago, when Wally-World came to my town I ventured in, what the hell right? And after seeing it’s unkempt wares and inept customer service I decided the trek to the mall was acceptable, then I discovered cheap diapers. Screw you Walmart…and so began my horrific addiction. And it’s not like it’s an addiction to something that makes you feel good like…say…sex…(good job Duchovney). No, this is an addiction of necessity…I need cheap diapers.
So today’s visit was simple, I just needed a piece of felt… .25 cents…easy right? Oh hell no. First the place was filled with idiots, my favorite kind of people, with their unruly children. God help me. At any rate, to make a long story short…I went in for a .25 cent piece of felt and spent 70 bucks! SCREW YOU WALMART!
A simple question…

When did Bon Jovi become the official band of Major League Baseball?…just askin…
So how about them Sox…I know it’s just the first game, and well they just about squeaked by, but hell, a win is a win. Right? One down and 3 to go…beat up them Rays guys!
I Need a Hero…
Posted in: 200 Channels and nuthin on... by Spider on October 07, 2008
Ok, that tears it! Much like Supe, I am “off” Heroes. Last night’s episode was just dumb. First of all, all of this time hopping stuff gives me a headache. I think Heroes needs a Temporal Prime Directive. (Yea, I’m a half-assed Trekkie…you wanna make something of it?)
Suresh and “The Fly” stuff was really…and I mean really…lame. Come on…how about a little originality here. Again Peter was his whiny little self. Oh, people are good, they will control themselves…Are you on crack dude? The whole thing was just stuuupiiiid. I was bored, and with the Sox playing, there is really no comparison…see ya later Heroes…
Spider’s Debate Review…get it while it’s hot!
Posted in: Insanity at its Best by Spider on October 06, 2008
Ok, so I had to watch the VP debate online because on the actual night of I had a horrific migraine. I now know that someone was trying to tell me something. Here have a migraine now, ’cause if you watch this thing you might have a stroke. I’ve read a lot of the reviews by the so-called experts, and they all say the same thing, there was no “knock-out punch” by either side. For me personally it changed my entire impression of the election, AND quite possibly how I am going to vote. Let me start by saying Sarah Palin is a boob. If I heard “joe six-pack” and “you betcha” one more time I was going to lose it. Is she for real?
I don’t have any love for Obama, I mean lets be honest I have been quoted as saying he is the anti-christ. However, watching Joe Biden, I felt confident in his ability as a VP, and as President should the need arise. As my good friend Mrs. Echo so succinctly put it, the vice president is a heartbeat away from the presidency, do you really want this woman running the country? And considering John McCain’s age, and well let’s face it, he’s not looking to spry these days, it could be very likely.
Again Mrs. Echo made an excellent point, and all the candidates do this, stop trying to relate to me. I don’t want someone like me to be president…dear god! I may be cool, and an evil genius and everything…but for all intents and purposes I am a knucklehead…I want someone smarter than me to be president…someone much, much smarter…
Fall TV Review…Spoiler Alert!
Posted in: Ninja Squirrels and Other Oddities by Spider on October 01, 2008
Heroes…lets just say I wasn’t impressed. I was bored actually…and that made me disappointed. My buddy Supe stated earlier that he might be “off” Heroes, and lo and behold, so did fellow blogospherian Echo. So apparently the sentiment is not mine alone. I found it predictable, and even soap opera-esque. Syler, I’m your mom…seriously? As if the Petrelli’s aren’t already fucked up enough. And does anyone else think Peter is a whiny little bitch? Ok, that’s enough, I’m getting annoyed just thinking about it.
Chuck: Can I just say I love this show. It’s spy, it’s action, and it’s funny. While I did miss a portion of it (I was playing Cootie with LB) (NBC.com + HTPC = kick ass) what I did see was great. Chuck pretending to be his alter ego, super spy Charles Carmicheal, meanwhile back at the Buy More a cage match to determine the new Asst. Manager…that my friends is good TV.
Knight Rider: Alright, I admit it, I watched it. The 10-year-old me somewhere deep in my brain made me do it. I had some secret hope it would be good…it was horrific. Like a train wreck. The acting = bad painfully bad. The voice of KITT, Val Kilmer…whaaa? Not to mention KITT is now a Mustang…which by some amazing technology can convert into an F-150…maybe they should call the show “Knight Rider, Brought to you by FORD. I give it 5 episodes before this latest KR incarnation rides off into the sunset.
Life: I cannot say enough about this show, I love it. Damien Lewis (Band of Brothers, Dreamcatcher) is awesome. It isn’t a fast-paced shoot out cop show. It’s slow, intellectual and darkly funny.
